Achmed will be dearly missed by his partners at Innovate. We are forever fortunate to have been a part of his legal career. Achmed Sadik: 1939 - 2011.

Achmed received the degree Dipl.-Ing. (Electronics/Physics) from the German University of Karlsruhe, after which he was a research engineer at the German ITT in Freiburg. Achmed was senior engineer at TMC Canada before joining the then Northern Electric R&D Laboratories in Ottawa (later Bell-Northern Research) as a member of scientific staff - systems engineer in transmission, switching and fiber optics. A two-year stint with IBM Canada's patent department in Toronto followed where he qualified as a patent agent.  Achmed then returned to Northern Telecomm as manager of patents and soon after attended law school at the University of Ottawa.  Achmed has worked in many of Canada's leading law firms including Gowlings and BLG.
